NEW CHILDREN’S BOOK

By An Cantor

Supporting Big Cat Habitat

Today marks a marvelous and exciting day for our long time volunteer and Board Member, An Cantor! Not only is she celebrating her 79th birthday this week, but her fabulous children’s book is now available for the world to enjoy!

A portion of the proceeds will go directly to the animals here at Big Cat Habitat!

The magnificent illustrations by Lee Martin portray the life of a very funny elephant named…

Trunkly

As the story begins…

Once upon a time in the land of Junglebungle, lived a preposterous pachyderm named Trunckly.

In his heart he was not very happy. A problem troubled his mind.

He love the other animals of the jungle bungle so much, he wanted to be like them…

You simply must pick up a copy of this book, written and illustrated some 40 years ago by An herself. More recently, in honor of her dear real life elephant friend named Luke who passed away a few years ago, An brought this story back, had the illustrations created and is bringing it to the world for the young and young at heart.

A MESSAGE FROM KAY ROSAIRE & THE BIG CAT HABITAT

Big Cat Habitat & Gulf Coast Sanctuary in Sarasota, Florida has absolutely no affiliation or connection of any kind with Big Cat Rescue in Tampa, Florida. Due to the similarity in the facilities’ names, many people have confused our sanctuary with the Tampa facility owned by Carole Baskin.

Founded in 1987 by Kay Rosaire & family and becoming a 501c3 non-profit organization in 2005, Big Cat Habitat & Gulf Coast Sanctuary in Sarasota has become the safe, loving and permanent home of over 150 exotic and domestic animals. Our mission is to not only to provide the best animal care possible, but to preserve the human/animal connection in our world.

By working closely with all state and federal animal care and wildlife agencies and employing qualified animal care technicians we not only meet but exceed all animal care requirements and have a violation free record. We deeply appreciate your continuing support in our mission to help these animals in need.

YOU CAN HELP

GULF COAST SANCTUARY

Big Cat Habitat and Gulf Coast Sanctuary is an ever-growing large-animal rescue in eastern Sarasota County. Founded in 1987 by Kay Rosaire, the nonprofit sanctuary is a permanent home for dozens of exotic animals, offers placement for animals in need, and works to educate the public about animal care and conservation.

Big Cat Habitat is a labor of love, with all income generated by admission going to the feeding and care of the animals. We always need more help.
