Watch Training

Animal Training is on hold during the hot summer months. We do not want the cats to work in these temps. We are looking for 3 commercial-sized A/C units for our arena so the cats can continue to train and get the attention they love.

If you are interested in being contacted when training resumes please contact us and we will email you when it is a bit cooler outside.

Why We Train These Beautiful Creatures

We here at the Big Cat Habitat have found that the animals we work hands on with seem to live anywhere from 3-5 years longer than the animals we just give a home to. Whenever we take in an animal we observe their behavior and health, and see if they connect verbally with our trainers. If they seem interested we try to teach them behaviors which are all based on “Positive Reinforcement”!

If they take to the behavior they get the verbal reward along with a tasty treat of their liking. During our guided tours we have weekly (see calendar for scheduling) we also like to teach a variety of animals in front of the public so they can form their own opinions on how our system works. Our Training demos are free and we hope that in watching how we work with our animals you will see the love, devotion and dedication we have in making these animals lives worth living!
